Crews Fight Fire In Junkyard Mobile Home

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue units continue to monitor the scene of a fire that started in an empty home in a junkyard in the Palm River area early this morning.

Crews responding Monday night around 10 p.m. to the fire at 4716 Trenton St. found an empty mobile home fully engulfed.

The fire then spread to some junk cars, officials said.

Two men and three dogs who were inside a mobile home at the site were able to escape unharmed, according to Fire Rescue. That mobile home is not damaged.

The area near U.S. 41 also has about 100 empty mobile homes, some of which caught fire, officials said.
