According to prosecutors, Lester and Petra Huffmire, both age 41, neglected their two girls to play the popular online game World of Warcraft, per the Los Angeles Times.
Their girls are age 5 and 10 and were left to live in poor conditions in Anaheim, California according to the Orange County district attorney’s office. They have not specified their relation to the couple.
When they were rescued, prosecutors said their hair was matted, teeth were damaged “beyond repair” and their feet were crusted over with dirt.
Lester was charged and sent to five years in prison, while Petra was sentenced to three years and four months.
