One person is dead and three are injured following the two-car crash at Belcher and Gulf to Bay. The fatality is a pedestrian. Two of the injured were taken to Bayfront Medical as trauma alerts — two girls of preschool age. The driver of the car they were riding in ran from the scene, but was apprehended.
The accident happened shortly before 9. Drivers should stay away from the area for the next several hours as the investigation continues.
