Update: Stolen Chihuly Glass Found

The Stolen Chihuly art piece has been recovered.

At 8:50 this morning, an employee of the Morean Arts Center at 719 Central Avenue discovered a box in front of their business that contained the art work stolen from the Chihuly Gallery. St. Petersburg Police are reviewing video and interviewing witnesses at this time. The art work was identified and does not appear damaged.

Police are going over hours of video from the Chihuly Gallery in St. Petersburg. Someone walked off with a small but expensive piece of glass art.

It’s described as the Cobalt and Lavender Venetian with gilded handles.

It’s 8 inches tall, 6 inches wide, and 6 inches wide. The piece is worth $25,000.

It was likely lifted yesterday when the gallery was open to the public.
