Seminole, Florida – Several children inside a Seminole apartment were injured Monday morning after a carslammed into the building.
The Nissan Sentra went into unit #143 at the Buena Vista Apartments at 12050 Park Boulevard. The area is near Starkey Road.
Pinellas deputies say the driver, 88-year-old Rita Mandin, was uninjured. An adult woman and three children — an infant, a 3-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy — who were inside the the apartment all suffered minor injuries.
Deputies say the children were transported by ambulance to All Childrens Hospital as a precaution. The adult woman was also transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators are not sure what made the driver lose control and slam into the apartment.
