Brooksville: Pregnant Women In Critical Condition After Shooting

The Tampa Tribune reports that a pregnant woman is clinging to life in Brooksville after accidentally being shot in the head Saturday evening.

About 6:43 p.m., deputies and Fire Rescue units were sent to 20079 Suncrest Drive in Brooksville, where Kathleen and Carson Hoover of Citrus County were visiting William DeHayes and family.

According to deputies, DeHayes was showing the Hoovers some of his guns, including a .22 caliber revolver. While showing the revolver, it discharged, striking Kathleen Hoover in the head.

Hoover, who is five months pregnant, was transported to Bayfront Health Brookville, then airlifted to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Her injuries are considered life threatening.
