Blue Lobster Caught Off Coast Of Maine

Blue Lobster

In a 1-in-2 million catch, a blue lobster was caught off the coast of Maine this weekend.

Meghan LaPlante, 14, and her father Jay with the Miss Meghan Lobster Catch company found the blue lobster in one of their traps Saturday.

Scientists say the blue pigment is caused from a genetic defect and it may have saved the crustacean’s life. The lobster, nicknamed “Skyler,” will live at Maine’s State Aquarium from now on.
