Bicyclist Killed In Sarasota Hit-And-Run

Police in Sarasota are actively looking for a man suspected in a hit-and-run involving a bicyclist.

According to the Sarasota Police Department, 28-year-old Skyler Duane Sandifar was killed Sunday night in the hit-and-run. His last known address is in Ocala.

Officers are looking for a 2014-2016 Toyota Corolla LE 4-door with damage to the right front fender and right headlight. The right front fender by the tire is missing a large piece of the vehicle. The 2 photos seen below are a vehicle that is similar (these are not the vehicle involved). The photo with the red circle is the area that has the damage.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:15pm Sunday between 6th Street and 8th Street along North Washington Boulevard (US 301) in the northbound lanes. The driver hit the back side of the bicycle and fled the area. The victim was transported to Sarasota Memorial and later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
