Bay Area Police: NO CELEBRATORY GUNFIRE!!

Bay area law enforcement agencies are pleading with residents not to celebrate the Fourth of July by shooting guns into the air.

Bullets from celebratory gunfire are often still moving at high speed when they fall back to Earth and have hit several people in recent years.

The most serious case involved a boy named Diego Duran, who was hit the head and nearly killed by a stray bullet.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says most people hit by celebratory gunfire suffer injuries to their head, shoulders, and feet.
