A Bartow teacher was arrested Friday on drug charges.
According to Polk County Sheriffs, deputies responded 45-year-old John Michael Garrison’s home after they received a tip that Garrison was in possession of marijuana. Garrison is a teacher at Bartow High School.
When Garrison answered the door, police could smell marijuana. They searched his home and found a metal grinder used for grinding marijuana, a glass pipe and a small bag of the drug.
Garrison admitted he “smoked a joint” earlier.
He was arrested on a charged with possession of marijuana under 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from jail on Saturday, after posting a $500 bond.
