AM 820 News anchor Robert Pankau talked with ABC News Correspondent Jim Ryan about the Exxon Valdez oil spill that happened 25 years ago. Today marks the 25th anniversary of one of the nation’s largest oil spills that occurred when a tanker struck the Bligh Reef off Alaska’s coast unleashing an estimated 10.8 million gallons of crude oil into the water. And as if history was repeating itself, off the coast of Texas the Coast Guard is scrambling to contain an oil spill after Saturday’s collision between a cargo ship and a barge loaded with a million gallons of fuel oil. Jim has more on the continued recovery efforts in Alaska, as well as the latest on the clean up in Texas.
