Arrest made in shooting last month

A 19-year-old man who authorities say shot a woman last month during a drug transaction dispute was arrested Wednesday, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

James Greene of St. Petersburg shot Michelle Rae Jordan, 38, once in her upper body, the sheriff’s office said. She is recovering from the gunshot wound.

The amount of money in dispute was less than $50, the sheriff’s office said. Jordan was shot as she stood in the doorway of her apartment.

Detectives arrested Greene after developing information that he knew Jordan.

Greene was released from the state prison system in October. He had served time for armed robbery, carrying a concealed firearm and battery on a law enforcement officer, the sheriff’s office said.
