Would You Apply For A One Way Ticket To Mars?

You’ve heard of a “one-way ticket to Paradise”? That sounds pretty appealing. But what about a one-way ticket to Mars? Well, that’s what over 200,000 people are applying for. While NASA has no plans to send humans to the red planet until the 2030’s, another company has other plans. Mars One. “One,” as in, yes, one-way.

It will launch people into space, land them on Mars and attempt to keep them alive for the length of their natural lives — but it won’t be bringing them back. Tom has more on the venture and on some of the people willing to leave their family and friends behind.
