Lawmakers introduced fast-track legislation into the House and Senate on Thursday that could pave the way for President Obama to conclude a major agreement with 11 nations around the Pacific. The bill, another compromise between Dems and Republicans on the Senate Finance Committee has the support of President Obama, along with the GOP, and enough Democrats to get past cloture and to the president’s desk. Ironically, it is not so well liked by some Democrats and labor unions who feel it is not U.S. worker friendly. The committee is expected to vote on the plan next week.
