Allegiant Pilots Abort Take Off At PIE

It has happened again.

Another mechanical problem has forced an Allegiant jet to cancel a flight.

This time, Flight 904 pilots aborted take off at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport when an engine failed with a loud boom.

The flight was heading to Kansas City when the incident happened on the runway at PIE.

The problem was labelled a “compressor stall,” which happens when airflow into the engine is uneven.

Allegiant has been beset by dozens of forced landings and cancelled flights due to mechanical problems in the past two years.
