SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) _ Prosecutors in the trial of Shawn Tyson will continue to question the detective who investigated the slayings of two tourists from the U.K. who were on holiday in Sarasota in 2011.
Friday is the second day of testimony in the trial.
On Thursday, jurors saw photos of the dead victims and heard from Det. John Todd, the lead investigator on the case.
Seventeen-year-old Shawn Tyson is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Defense attorneys say there’s no evidence tying him to the crime and that witnesses testifying against him won’t be credible.
James Cooper and James Kouzaris, both British, were vacationing in Sarasota and shot to death in a housing project early one morning after drinking heavily.
