The last time his hometown Royals were in a World Series, Scott was at Game 7 with his dad (and might’ve been wearing parachute pants). This time, he’s in New York City, but like all native Kansas Citians, he’s rubbing his eyes and trying to understand how it took 29 years for this team to get back to baseball’s championship. And he’s reliving a time when George Brett was king, George Michael’s Wham! was at the top of the pop charts, and George McFly was getting bossed around by Biff in “Back to the Future.”
Also, Scott can explain how a team from Cowtown got the name “Royals.” Still unclear at the time of this writing: Will the Royals play the San Francisco Giants, or is there still a chance they’ll take on the St. Louis Cardinals – just like 1985?
