AAA: Gasoline Will Never Be Under $3 Again

gas_prices_2013UNDATED (KDAL) – On Tuesday, the national average price of gasoline will mark a thousand days at or above 3 dollars a gallon. According to the American Automobile Association (AAA) the current streak began on December 23rd in 2010 and, barring a major economic recession, will stay over that price for at least another thousand days.

Bob Darbelnet, the President of AAA, says paying less than 3 dollars a gallon for gas will be automotive history for most Americans. He expects the national average to remain over 3 dollars in the future and is now over 3.50. Gas prices first surged over 3 dollars a gallon after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
