The owner of the Tampa Bay Rays, Stuart Sternberg, met with St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster yesterday, in what many believe, is an attempt to resolve the teams stadium troubles.
The two met for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon at Tropicana Field to discuss the stadium and other issues.
Neither spoke after the meeting except Sternberg to say he and the Mayor hadn’t discussed or reached any deals about stadium sites, and there wasn’t any talk of how the Rays might buy out their contract to play at Tropicana Field.
Much of the discussion focused on how the city might help the team with marketing and improving upon home attendance in 2012.
