Fiery Crash Closes Much of I-75 North of Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ The Florida Highway Patrol says a major crash involving two commercial vehicles on Interstate 75 north of Tampa.

Troopers say crash happened about 6:30 a.m. Thursday just north of State Road 56 in Pasco County.

The southbound lanes of I-75 are expected to remain closed for up to six hours on Thursday.

Only one northbound lane remained open Thursday morning, bringing traffic to a crawl. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.

FHP says both vehicles caught fire after the crash and were fully engulfed in flames when authorities arrived.

No further details were immediately available.
