2 Floridians Win Half-Marathon Titles

KEY LARGO, Fla. (AP) — Two south Floridians have won overall men’s and women’s half-marathon titles at the Key Largo Bridge Run in the Florida Keys.

Eighteen-year-old Steven Chadwick, a high school senior in Tavernier, Fla., ran Saturday’s contest in one hour, 31 minutes and 55 seconds. Thirty-nine-year-old Sarah Williams, of Key West, finished in one hour, 42 minutes and 39 seconds in the women’s division.

Overall 10-kilometer division winners were Lighthouse Point, Fla. resident Ed Ferrer with a time of 43 minutes and 4 seconds, and Boca Raton, Fla. resident Leandra Bates with a time of 46 minutes and 37 seconds.

In men’s and women’s 5k divisions, winners were Ivan Diaz of Islamorada, Fla., and Nicole Johnson of Tavernier.

The race attracted 814 participants.
