1st United Will Close Pasco Branch

A 1st United Bank branch in west Florida will shut down during the fourth quarter.

The South Florida Business Journal identified the branch as the office in New Port Richey.

The move is expected to save 1st United Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: FUBC), headquartered in Boca Raton, $400,000 a year, a statement from the company said.

The branch, with $28.9 million in deposits on June 30, 2012 – the most recent data available from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. – is 1st United’s only branch in Pasco County. Customers and employees will relocate to another 1st United banking center, the company said in a statement.
