PINE HILLS, Fla. (AP) _ A teenager who was shot as her family drove home from church remains in critical condition in Orlando.
Orange County Sheriff’s officials say 15-year-old Danielle Sampson was in the backseat of her parents’ minivan Sunday evening when she was struck by a bullet from a passing motorist.
The family was driving home from church, where they had been celebrating her mother’s birthday.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/OxFO4P ) reports deputies are searching for two vehicles thought to be involved in the shooting _ a charcoal SUV and a tan sedan.
The girl’s father was driving when he heard several gunshots.
The newspaper reports that as he turned to get away from the gunfire, a bullet hit the van’s window near where the girl was sitting.
