Katlyn Rickman, a 13-year-old girl and student at Lakeland High School, died this afternoon after getting hit by a Southwest Elementary School bus making a turn at Beacon and Eden Parkways in Lakeland this afternoon. The girl was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, but attempts to save her life proved futile.
There were no injuries to students on the bus.
