TERRA CEIA, Fla. (AP) _ They couldn’t give it away, so the owners of a 127-year-old house plan to demolish it.
The Bradenton Herald (http://bit.ly/zw08th ) reports the house belonged to Mary Rich, who died at age 91 four years ago.
She willed it to people who live out of town and didn’t want to restore the house.
They want to sell the land, but don’t want to pay to renovate the house, so they offered it free to anyone who would move it.
They even offered to chip in $10,000 to anyone who would move the house off the property, but no one has yet to take them up on the offer which ended February 27.
The home is located in Terra Ceia, which is south of St. Petersburg.
Though attorney David Levin received 14 responses to the heirs’ offer, officials say no one followed through.
The Historic Preservation Board recently approved a permit to demolish the house.
There was no word on when the house will be destroyed.
