Flugtag – Those Crazy Flying Machines are back

It’s about time to fly… or not.

Red Bull Flugtagis back in Tampa for the second time since 2008 when 110,000 people packed into the convention center area to watch teams attempt to fly.

This year, event planners are expecting even more people.

The event kicks off this Saturdayat 11 a.m. with the first “flight” taking off at 1 p.m.

38 teams with an array of crafts will attempt to break last year’s record of 207 feet, which was set in Minnesota.

10 News even sent reporter Preston Rudie (who has a fear of heights) over the edge with the help of Jana water’scloud craft. Tune into 10 News at 6 p.m. to see how far he went!

Bayshore Blvd will be closed between Rome and Platt where a family friendly viewing area will be set up.
