The owners of Club Empire have decided to pack it in. In a statement, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn says, “The closing will have a positive effect on Ybor that will resonate with businesses, residents and visitors.”
Club Empire was the scene of a fatal shooting on October 2nd.
The club was also the scene of other shootings and stabbing incidents over the years.
Recently, shooting victim’s relatives and residents were seen picketing the club, putting additional pressure on the owners to close the place down.
