Arson Team Investigating After Man Dies

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — An arson task force is investigating after a Tampa man died in a house fire.

Authorities in Tampa say the fire broke out just before 2 a.m. Thursday in south Tampa.

Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Lonnie Benniefield told the St. Petersburg Times (http://bit.ly/q0CXli ) the man was pulled from the burning building and taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died.

Police say the fire was considered suspicious, prompting the arson squad and homicide investigators to visit the scene.

Officials say it took about 25 minutes to put out the fire.
