Disney to Honor Child Killed by Alligator with Sculpture

ORLANDO — Walt Disney World announced that it will honor the Nebraska boy killed by an alligator at one of its Orlando resorts with a sculpture.

The sculpture will be of a lighthouse. There is no word yet where on the grounds the work of art will be.

The announcement that Disney plans to honor 2 year old Lane Graves comes one year after the tragedy outside Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

Little Lane was playing along the edge of Seven Seas Lagoon when the reptile snatched him and dragged him underwater.

The child’s body was found 16 hours later and his death was ruled an accident.

The family declined to sue Disney, instead starting the Lane Thomas Foundation.
