Follow the facts and don’t point fingers
Over the past 48 hours we have seen what may be explosive devices sent to former President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Attorney General Eric Holder, California Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, political activist George Soros and actor Robert Di Niro. All of these folks, as we know, represent the Democrat party.
It is VERY important to stress that we do not yet know who is responsible for this domestic terrorist attack. So, it is time to wait for the facts to be uncovered by the FBI, as well as, the fine public servants of the New York and Washington, D.C. police departments. Now is not the time for speculation or guessing who may or may not be behind these attacks. We are seeing this speculation run irresponsibly by many colleagues in the media.
An attack on any citizen of the United States is an attack on all of us. It is unacceptable and can’t be tolerated, because at the end of the day, we are all Americans. Regardless of political persuasion.
We need to come together, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, all Americans. This is a time that we need step back and take a collective breath and understand that the over the top, outrageous, rhetoric is doing damage to the country.
As the one in charge of News Talk Florida, as is the case with our brands and policies, it is time that others dial back the rhetoric on both the right and the left. We encourage conversation from all Floridians, but we feel that until we know the facts that we are dealing with, speculation is very irresponsible. We love opinions, but over the line attacks, innuendo and false rumors are fueling the wide divide and creating potential safety issues for our citizens.
We at News Talk Florida are in the news and conversation business, that means dealing in facts and thought through opinion. You can count on us to be a leader in dealing only in facts without the false premises and attacks on either sides of the political spectrum. You can count on us to continue to analyze the issues that face Floridians as election day 2018 rapidly approaches.
I want you to read our web publication, and listen to our radio stations throughout Florida and know that we are careful with the facts and analysis from our incredibly talented journalists and talking heads. We will lead smart, honest, fact-based conversations and stay far away from conspiracy theories from both the right and the left.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives and we promise in return to earn your trust by being a beacon of truth in a time when that is the only thing that matters.
