Pixar President Jim Morris Reveals Finding Dory Setting

There is going to be a sequel to the 2003 film “Finding Nemo” called “Finding Dory.” The thing that might surprise you is it’s not going be held in “the ocean.”

As just about all of the Finding Nemo movie is located in the ocean, all except the dentist office, Finding Dory will follow Dory (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres), and her goal to remember her past.

The basics of the sequel, according to Pixar President Jim Morris, are that Dory is living with Marlin and Nemo on their reef and goes on a school trip with Nemo. While on the trip, memories are triggered and thus the story starts.

That much we knew. But what we didn’t know was the location, which is the “Marine Biology Institute of California.” This is described as “a huge rehabilitation complex for marine and aquarium life. Dory learns that there she was born and raised and was released in the ocean still young.”

There will also be a plethora of new characters.

The movie is set for a June 17, 2017 release date.
