Next month, PBS honors the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination with J.F.K., a special from its Peabody-winning American Experience series. The four-hour, two-part special offers a new perspective on our country’s most eulogized president with interviews from Kennedy-family members and historians, as well as at-home footage from recently opened archives.
In advance of the special’s premiere on November 11 and 12, VF.com has obtained an exclusive clip about the future president’s early relationship with Jacqueline Bouvier. In it, Vanity Faircontributing editor Sally Bedell Smith speaks about Jackie’s engagement before J.F.K., the couple’s Newport, Rhode Island, wedding, and the early marital warning Jackie received from one of John’s best friends.
