Jason Derulo got down on one knee and asked Jordin Sparks to marry him—but just for pretend.
In the 24-year-old singer’s “Marry Me” music video, Jason goes through the motions of proposing to his real-life love. But while the twosome clearly has thought about a future together, it doesn’t appear that they’re actually engaged—yet. (Reps for the singers did not immediately respond to E! News’ request for comment.)
“Marry Me,” Jason told E! News on Aug. 25 at the 2013 MTV VMAs, “It is about Jordin, actually, and it’s talking about how amazing it will be when I get down on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life.”
“You can’t fake anything because true love is true love, and that’s the basis of our relationship,” he gushed.
Ah, cuteness all around. This music video will be great to play at an eventual engagement party. And if things don’t work out, well, it might just be a little awkward.
