For the next three weeks, fans of the CBS procedural can help build an upcoming episode by voting on six story elements: the scene of crime, victim, murder weapon, evidence, suspect and takedown. Each component has seven choices, meaning the choose-your-own-adventure options can result in something as bizarre as a struggling illusionist murdering a macadamia nut tycoon during a skydiving lesson with a poisonous toad.
Although voting closes on Oct. 31, viewers will be able to dictate production elements come February. Then, they’ll have input on props, cast wardrobe, music and the episode’s title.
“Hawaii Five-0″ is known for its interactivity with fans; in a television first, it allowed fans to choose its season finale last year.
