Brian Williams Suspended, Jon Stewart Signs Off

NEW YORK CITY – NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams has been suspended for 6 months without pay. Six months is an eternity in TV news and it will likely be difficult for him to work his way back into the fold after serving his suspension.

Comedy Central’s Daily Show host Jon Stewart has announced his retirement after 16 years. Stewart has built a great audience base but you question the timing and its effect on CC network. Just a few months ago Stephen Colbert announced he was leaving for Letterman’s position and Daily Show second best talent, John Oliver left for HBO opportunity.

At one point, Williams heavily lobbied for The Tonight Show gig. Would there be an opportunity for Williams to take over The Daily Show?
