64,000 People Declare Their Religion as Jedi

Aussies worship Jedi the Star Wars creation

Australians are about to become known for a more bizarre cultural phenomenon than Crocodile Dundee and the Shark Hunter. 64,000 people from the land down under have officially declared that their religion is Jedi. The stupid is strong with these ones. These numbers place just below the Sikh community in the Australian census.

Why would somebody over the age of 10 declare themselves to be a Jedi? How did distanced from the world of reality can you actually be. Perhaps it’s easier to understand in a world where half the population seems to be playing Pokémon go. But this is fueled by something different.

People are so dissatisfied with the age in which they live that they are turning to the past. They are indulging in nostalgia. That, in truth, is a big part of what is playing into the presidential election. A lot of people have nostalgia for the era of Clinton and are deciding to vote for Hillary.

A lot of people have nostalgia for when America was “great” and are voting for Trump. And some people have nostalgia just for when they were kids, when they had just seen the Star Wars movies, and I’ve decided they would rather be a Jedi then be an active participant in society.

A 7

That’s dangerous. There’s no need to engage in battles from a galaxy far far away when the battles right here, right now are very real Australians are about to become known for a more bizarre cultural phenomenon than Crocodile Dundee and the Shark Hunter. 64000 people from the land down under have officially declared that their religion is Jedi. The stupid is strong with these ones. These numbers place just below the Sikh community in the Australian census.
