2011 Rib-Fest This Weekend

Bring your appetite and leave your white shirts at home… it’s the 22nd Rockin’ Ribs-Helping Kids Rib Fest at Vinoy Park!

This is the Northeast Exchange Club’s largest and tastiest fundraising event of the year. Money raised will go right back into our community to support childrens charities and the Exchange Club’s programs for kids.

13 “ribbers” from across the country have been prepping since last night like John Biglak, with Willingham’s BBQ out of Memphis, Tennessee.

He can’t tell us the secret ingredients in his dry rub, but did let us in on one other secret to good bbq…time!

The gates open at 11am Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will also feature live music and a Kids Zone for the little ones.

The Northeast Exchange Club expects 75,000-100,000 people will attend throughout the three day event.

They’ve raised more than $2 million over the years for childrens causes through events like Rib Fest.

But, they’re not forgetting our veterans.  Active duty military members and their family will be able to get in free with their military ID.

You can also get a free ticket by donating blood at the Florida Blood Services bloodmobile which will be located at the Vinoy Hotel entrance on Friday, from 3pm-7pm, Saturday from 11am-7pm and Sunday from 11:30am-5pm.

The long list of live musical acts include: Tampa Bay’s own Outlaws, 80’s rock band STYX and country music superstar Trace Adkins.
