According to the Sarasota Police Department, at 9:45 a.m. today, they received a call of a body found in the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Jr Way in Sarasota.
When officers arrived, the body of an African American female was found behind the Out Reach Ministry building at 1854 Martin Luther King Jr Way.
The woman’s cause of death is unknown at this time but it is being handled as a suspicious death. Detectives are working to determine the woman’s identity and her cause of death. They’re asking if anyone saw something suspicious in this area in the last 24 hours, to call the Sarasota Police Department.
