Pinellas Park Police, Fire and a contractor for the Florida DOT is on the scene of the paint spill.
The spill occurred as a vehicle turned onto US 19 and the paint spilled from the vehicle. The spill is larger than originally reported, which was 15 gallons.
The paint is reported to be a water soluble, silicone based paint, police said. Crews will put sand down to contain the spill before attempting to wash the roadway down. All of US 19 will remain closed during cleanup efforts.
Alternate routes suggested are 49th and 66th Streets.
