Over the weekend it was reported that volunteer researchers uncovered mass graves at a cemetery in the South Texas town of Falfurrias, that they believe contain the bodies of immigrants who died crossing the U.S. illegally. The discovery came in the last two weeks, as a group led by anthropologists from Baylor and the University of Indianapolis worked as part of a multi-year effort to identify immigrants who have died in the area near the U.S.-Mexico border.
