Brooksville Mother Charged With Murdering Her Baby

A Brooksville mother is accused of doing the unthinkable. April Weber, 26, admits throwing her six week old daughter, Aubrie, into the bed at their Mandon Hill Road home. The newborn bounced off the bed and onto the floor. She then threw the baby again and the child hit a dresser.

When Hernando County Fire/Rescue arrived, they saw the injuries were severe. The baby, born on Feb. 5, was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital. According to police, the baby was resuscitated three times and died from her injuries – which included bi-lateral skull fractures on both sides of her head and bleeding in her skull – at 9:42 p.m.

The infant suffered massive head injuries and passed away. The mother is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
