Tampa Bay Weekend Weather
An upper level tropical low is moving across Cuba today and spreading showers and storms into south Florida. That moisture will eventually work it’s way into the Bay area later today and into the weekend. That means our rain chances go up today and into the weekend. Don’t worry though as it won’t be a rainout, but a few morning showers will be followed by a good spread of afternoon showers and storms through Sunday. I have raised the rain chance from 40% to 50% on Sunday due to the fact that the tropical wave is in the area and a stalling frontal boundary will be lingering along the Florida panhandle. This means a few more showers coming in off of the Gulf in the morning with more north and inland showers during the afternoon.
Temperatures will remain in the low 90 through the weekend with winds starting from the SSE then turning the WSW each day.
Tropics: The tropics are heating up with T.D. 7 and another wave labeled 93L coming off of Africa. Both have a chance of gaining at least tropical storm status, but neither will have an affect on our weather as it stands now.
Today: Partly cloudy with an isolated shower followed by afternoon storms moving inland. Winds will be SSE-WSW 10 mph with a high near 92.
Tonight: Mainly a quiet night with an isolated shower near the coast. Lows will range between 75-80 with light winds.
Saturday: Partly cloudy with a few morning showers followed by scattered afternoon storms 40%. Winds will be SSE-WSW 10 mph with highs near 92.
Sunday: Partly cloudy with a few morning showers followed by a slightly better chance for scattered afternoon storms 50%. Winds will be SSE-WSW 10 mph with highs near 91.
