Tampa Bay TB Testing
Pinellas County, Florida — The Pinellas County Health Department will begin screening students and staff at an area school as a school employee is treated for an active case of tuberculosis.
A letter went home to parents and staff members alerting them about the case and to offer free testing.
Health Department officials are most concerned about screening those people who were in close contact with the individual for several hours at a time during a 5-6 month period.
Anyone who is concerned about a possible TB exposure can be screened for free.
The Pinellas County Health Department is not naming the school at this point because of HIPPA laws that protect the person’s privacy.
To find out testing locations, call the Pinellas County Health Department at 727-824-6932.
