Talk Back Florida: How Tampa Crossroads Helps Our Veterans
Missed part of the show? Here’s a rewind of the program on May 24, 2014.
Talk Back Florida was ALL about honoring and remembering our veterans and their families. The show started by bringing attention to a growing problem in our community, homeless vets. Sara Romeo, The Executive Director of Tampa Crossroads and Thomas Brown, the Outreach Coordinator for Tampa Crossroads talked about what is being done to help our local veterans and how listeners can help. Next we had Retired Marine and author Karl Klicker in the studio to talk to us about his books and new children’s book that’s about to be released. Karl is a graduate of USF’s Eneterprenerial Masters Degree program.
And we ended Talk Back Florida by visiting with Rui Farias, the Executive Director. of the St. Petersburg Museum of History (which is located at the foot of the St. Pete Pier) to talk about their terrific photo exhibit called “The American Solider” that runs thru July 13th. There are 150 still photos in the exhibit dating as far back as the Civil War and all the way to Iraq. A compelling exhibit and the perfect place to leave you for this our Memorial Day weekend show.
