A Sarasota man is behind bars after his girlfriend told Sarasota Police officers he poured hot sauce all over a 3 month old puppy named Gizmo, police said.
According to police, about 1:20 a.m. Sunday morning, officers responded to the 3500 block of Old Bradenton Road in reference animal cruelty. When officers arrived, they met with the homeowner who told them her boyfriend, Ephrian Myles, 47, of Sarasota, poured hot sauce all over her 3-month old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, Gizmo.
The homeowner told officers Gizmo has a medical history of seizures. The puppy suffered a seizure and started making a yelping noise. According to the homeowner, Myles became annoyed with the yelping, grabbed Gizmo and opened a bottle of hot sauce and began to pour it all over Gizmo. The hot sauce covered the puppy's whole body, got into his eyes and down his throat.
The homeowner took the puppy and went to a nearby fire department to get help.
