President Obama Shifts Foreign Policy Focus

In an extensive speech to West Point graduates Wednesday morning, President Obama laid out his foreign policy vision for the final two years of his presidency as the country emerges from what he described as a “long season of war.” But the day soon became overwhelmed with the release of the VA inspector general’s preliminary report on what was wrong at the hospital in Phoenix. That report had Sen. John McCain calling on VA Secretary Shinseki to resign, Shinseki himself calling the reort “reprehensible,” and his boss President Obama calling it “deeply disturbing.” Brace for the fallout.
