A water main break has shut down U.S. 301 northbound at Balm-Riverview Road, just south of the Alafia River.
Workers were on scene late Wednesday night making repairs but the work is expected to take much longer. Best case scenario, the road will be open Thursday afternoon, but it could be reopened as late as Saturday due to the work.
Drivers should find an alternate route. Crews were installing a sewer line under the water main, when the water main broke.
