A group of people on Redington Beach on found a 4-foot baby dolphin stranded on the beach on Friday and sprang into action in attempts to help it.

The dolphin was struggling against the current, which was likely heightened by Hurricane Arthur, and it beached itself in stress. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was eventually called to the scene, and rescued the dolphin by removing it out of the water to safety.

The FWC is now caring for the dolphin with assistance from Florida’s Clearwater Marine Aquarium, according to Tampa media.
