A Pasco County teen was arrested today in connection with the death of his grandmother, hours after she was reported missing from a Pasco County nudist community.
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said Brandon Machatto, 18, faces charges in the death of Sylvia Rosalie Schmitt, 74.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office reports that this case is now a death investigation as Schmitt’s body has been located in her car. No arrest has been made, but one person is being questioned in connection to Schmitt’s death.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert for 74-year-old Sylvia Rosalie Schmitt. She is a white female, 5′ 8″ 127 pounds, gray hair and brown eyes. Police believe she went missing from her home in Paradise Lakes located at 21036 Little Magens Loop early this morning.
She could be in a 2006 Gold Honda Odyssey Minivan Florida Tag 024KZY, possibly in the company of her grandson. Detectives are investigating the circumstances as suspicious.
