After getting several reports of a tegu lizard loose in the area, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is commencing a trapping excursion Wednesday morning in the Tampa Bay area.
They’re native to South America but are sold in reptile shops here. People buy them, let them go and they reproduce. The FWC says they’re aggressive and a danger to native wildlife.
